Travelling is not my thing until my college friends invited me to purchase the discounted airfare of one of the leading airline companies here in Philippines.
The first destination — the Queen City of the South, Cebu! Which is one of the historical places here in Philippines (which one is not?) This trip is where I experienced my many firsts, first airplane ride (hihi), first travel without my family, first out of town (in Visayas area).
This trip happened last March 2016 (Yeah, I didn’t started documenting my trips since then). But I realized I wanted to keep it on a blog. So let me share you our funventures!
Our day 1 started by a city tour. Arriving at the middle of the day, we fill our tummy of their trademark food, lechon.
After the burping part, we went to Philippine Taoist Temple Cebu in Beverly Hills, Cebu City. There is a sacred part here where you cannot take pictures. But the rest, we are free to explore.
After the temple, we got a very nice view of Cebu City.
The day ended by a dinner at night market. Grilled goodies and oooohh baked scallops and their cute rice, called puso, wrapped in banana leaves. Too bad I have no picture for this.
Day 2 started very early. Woke up at 4am to catch the bus heading to Badian. And yeees, we’re going for canyoneering. This is my first time to experience this kind of activity and I have an idea already got from my friends who already went and by reading other blogs too. We’re all nervous because of the jumping parts (where the first one is mandatory!)
Luckily, our selected tour guides (Highland Adventures), were very enjoyable to be with and they ease our fear all throughout the journey.
It took a lot of swimming, walking on rocks, and jumping off the water. There’s also a short trek to get in to the beautiful Kawasan Falls.
After the 5-hr journey, we had our delicious lunch by the falls prepared by our tour guides. To be honest, this day was one of my faves.
And here goes my other fave day. During the morning we went to whaleshark watching. This one is so short because we need to catch the 8-am boat ride to Sumilon.
And nooow for the finale, we went to Sumilon. It will take ~10-min boat ride to reach the island.
There’s a pretty sandbar as well.
Aside from the beach, there are also other activities offered by the resort like Kayaking.
Fishing and fish feeding are also available. But poor fishies we just freed them after being caught.
There are also hammocks tied between trees for you to relax and fill your eyes with the ocean view. ❤
Everyone heads home with a contented heart.
And there it goes our 3-day trip in Cebu. This is just the southern part and Cebu can offer more in its northern part which I hope in future I can experience too. Thank you Cebu.
